The developers behind incredible indie platformer Celeste just released a free, 3D version of the game to celebrate the sixth anniversary. It's complete with challenges, strawberries, B-side tapes, tough-as-nails platforming, and some delightful visuals and music. So if you're a fan of the Steam platformer, or just want a quick free game to breeze through, check Celeste 64 out now.
free game for everyone is an absolute win. Maddy Makes Games is celebrating the indie icon's anniversary with Celeste 64, after saying a few days ago the team was making something "small but cool" for the game.
"Relive the magic of Celeste Mountain alongside Madeline in this small, heartfelt 3D platformer. Created in a week(ish) by the Celeste team to celebrate the game's sixth anniversary," developer Maddy Makes Games writes.
Celeste 64 is available for free via itch, right here. There are versions for both Linux and Windows, and it's recommended that you play with a controller. Also, hold the right trigger to climb like in the main game, I forgot you could do that and got stuck at the first jump. Don't be like me, please.
If you haven't played the original Celeste, it's got almost 80,000 reviews on Steam and is sitting at a 97% rating, or 'Overwhelmingly Positive,' so if you like platformers you absolutely should try it.
