Free Control update brings Hideo Kojima to all players, and HDR

A new Control update for PC introduces HDR and other graphical improvements, alongside platform-locked content like a Hideo Kojima quest.

Control is a game with an impeccable sense of visual direction. The story of Jesse Faden's trip through The Oldest House is certainly gripping and the gameplay is tight, but it's the vibes that keep me coming back. The brutalist architecture flawlessly integrates with Remedy's science fiction and excellent world-building to make Control an experience unlike any other, and it's just got even better. A new update from Remedy adds some platform exclusive content to PC, and brings plenty of graphical improvements, too.

Hideo Kojima is now in Dead Stranding 2 release date on the way, it looks like we're in the year of Kojima.

That's not all, though, because you now have access to a collection of pre-order and PS4-exclusive outfits for Jesse. So if you're feeling like diving back into Control, you've got some new content (on PC, at least) to justify it. The same update is coming to Xbox Series and PS5 players in the future.

Remedy has also introduced some new graphical controls to the game, so your time in The Oldest House can look better than ever. The game now has HDR , an ultra ray tracing preset, ultrawide for up to 48:9, FOV scaling for the gameplay camera, DX11/12 selection, and rendering resolution beyond 4K. There's also DLSS and DLAA , and plenty of upgrades for DLSS itself. In short, Control can look better than before if your hardware is up for it. You can find the full patch notes here.
