New 94%-rated strategy game is a mix of Cyberpunk and XCOM

Cyber Knights: Flashpoint blends XCOM 2, Invisible Inc, and Cyberpunk 2077 into a heist focused cyberpunk tactics game, out now on Steam.

One of the most memorable sequences in Cyberpunk 2077 is the heist that sets the bulk of its plot in motion. It neatly introduces some of the game's most important cast , showcases the possibilities of its setting's futuristic technology, and does all of this in dramatic fashion. It's no wonder, then, that heists are a recurring theme in cyberpunk fiction, from the pioneering novel Neuromancer through to tactics-based sci-fi games like Invisible Inc, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, and, most recently, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint. Now, anyone looking to get into the latest of these is in luck, as Cyber Knights has just hit 1.0 on Steam alongside positive reviews and a launch discount.

strategy game set in a dystopian future where environmental collapse and the rise of megacorporations have drastically altered the world. The player works as a mercenary who, along with a customizable squad of teammates, navigates an underworld with competing criminal factions while taking on heist jobs.

Aside from its combat, which features deep character building, one of the more compelling aspects of Cyber Knights is a narrative system that sees the player's squad and the underworld's population change based on decisions and events, like injuries and conversation choices, that take place throughout the game.

All of this seems to be working well. Cyber Knights' 1.0 version just launched this week, but it's garnered a 94% or 'Very Positive' rating on Steam so far.
