Exoborne release date estimate

We expect Exoborne to be released sometime in 2025. This estimate is based on the extensive playtesting the game has already undergone, as well as our own hands-on experience with it. Exoborne will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Exoborne's lack of a launch window right now suggests we could be waiting until the back end of the year, or even into 2026. Conversely, Sharkmob may be withholding any date-related info to avoid overpromising – a wise move considering how disappointing delays can be.

February 2025 brought with it a here.

Exoborne trailers

There have been several Exoborne trailers, interspersed with sneak peeks when announcing playtests. The most recent snippet – the 'playtest live now' trailer – exemplifies the latter, as we're treated to a montage of gun play, verticality, and exo-rig abilities.

The playtest announcement trailer that preceded it takes footage from one of the early in-game cinematics, reintroducing the concept of the 'Reborn'.

The August 2024 gameplay trailer might not have showcased the HUD, opting for more cinematic in-engine footage, but it's nonetheless impressive. Here we can see explosive action, character customization, and those terrifying firestorms on full display.

The first Exoborne trailer arrived at The Game Awards back in 2023. The CG announcement trailer features a Reborn's bitter struggle against a target, utilizing the full array of exo-rig abilities he has at his disposal to secure the loot and get out of a towering building; by "get out" we mean 'throwing himself into a tornado.' "Easy in, easy out." Right.

Exoborne gameplay

Exoborne pits you and your rag-tag resistance group of Reborn against the all-consuming Rebirth corporation. Following the tried and tested extraction shooter gameplay loop, you'll drop in, loot, shoot, and (hopefully) get out with the goods.

The major pillars that separate Exoborne from the competition are the exo-rigs, customizable exoskeletons with unique powers, and freak weather conditions such as tornadoes and firestorms that will whisk you up and away or toast you like a marshmallow.

If stormy conditions do whip up, you can deploy your glider as you please to fly up into the air, allowing for swift rotations and faster traversal across the map. You also get a grappling hook by default, which you can use on a short cooldown to latch onto terrain and zip out of trouble.

Exoborne release date estimate: shooting at an enemy attempting to exfil with you

It's not only other players you need to be careful of. As a PvPvE experience, Exoborne pits you against human and robot AI enemies that can absolutely laser you down. While you won't quite need to use grenades and other powerful utility to take them down, don't underestimate them.

Matches typically last 30 minutes, the first 20 of which you'll be spending scavenging loot before attempting to exfiltrate. However, if you decide to go down to the wire, a 'Rebirth Trace' activates with ten minutes left on the clock, revealing the location of every player on the map as well as the value of their loadouts. From here, you can either choose to avoid trouble or hunt high-value targets for their valuables.

And that's everything we know about Exoborne so far. While we're still in the dark on that elusive launch date, it's clear that Exoborne is shaping up to be one of the most exciting best FPS games out there to tide you over.
