Steer clear of the war machines, though – this is a hauntingly beautiful grimdark future, where gigantic mechs have molded with almost everything in sight, creating new, lethal, metal monstrosities.
Your experience in The Forever Winter demo is naturally limited – you can only play as the Old Man on the Ashen Mesa map – but you can still pick quests from the warring factions and customize your gear. Fun Dog also says that the demo will not be taken down, so you can pick it up and test your survival skills whenever you want.
The future of The Forever Winter has also been outlined by the team. You can expect more modular rig designs, extra futuristic weapons, an overhauled sound system, and a whole more as the apocalyptic extraction game crawls out of early access.
