NetEase Games will never struggle to find new characters for Marvel Rivals. With decades of comic history and popular movies to pick from, the studio has an endless supply of heroes available. Whether or not they have the lore and abilities to back up a spot on the roster is another point entirely – but the Vanguard, Strategist, and Duelist roles aren't going to run dry anytime soon. Now that the Krakoa-themed Season 2 is here, though, questions are being asked about what's next. Well, one character description might just give us our biggest hint yet.
Back in Season 1, NetEase Games used a lore entry to Marvel Rivals Season 3 onwards.
A new Squirrel Girl lore entry has been added to the multiplayer game, and it contains a conversation between her and Psylocke. The chat turns to the topic of the latter's friend Logan (no, not Wolverine), with Psylocke saying they chased "some strange man in red who had been sent to find me."
Considering the ever-ballooning size of the Marvel universe, the color 'red' doesn't exactly narrow it down – but we can make some educated guesses. I'm immediately drawn to either Deadpool or Daredevil. Both Marvel Rivals characters have allegedly been datamined from the game's files since launch, which could the idea that some version of either character is coming to the game (via Miller Ross).
It's of course worth keeping in mind that this tease might not even refer to a new playable character, but the team at NetEase Games has a track record of hiding reveals in plain sight, so I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually goes somewhere.
