Where is the MH Wilds Sandstar? These tiny mouse-like critters shouldn't be too hard to see in the correct conditions. Landing your Capture Net onto one is a whole other story, however.
Once you're through catching little creatures for research purposes, get back to brandishing steel against the larger monsters causing a ruckus around the wilds, using our list of popular Monster Hunter Wilds quest list should be able to get you back onto the main story path.
Where to find the MH Wilds Sandstar location
The MH Wilds Sandstar is around Area 13 of the Windward Plains at night, usually during fallow periods.
The Sandstar can be found near the Oasis area where you might have spotted the Tracktail Lizard. For the Sandstar, you generally want to search northwest of the Oasis, close to the border of Area 13 and Area 11, or between Area 13 and Area 16.
Once the sun sets, the faint glow of the Sandstar should be visible from quite far away. They tend to travel alone and appear to like foraging for mushrooms. There should be a rocky spire between the two areas where Nitroshroom typically spawn, which acts as a great spawning point for the Sandstar, too.
With powerful hearing and a skittish nature, getting close enough to the Sandstar to capture it with the Capture Net slinger attachment can be tricky. The Ghillie Mantle can help. You should aim to hit the Sandstar with a Screamer Pod, locking it in place to capture it with your net.
Catching the Sandstar awards the 'I Caught a Shooting Star' achievement. You'll even get the Ribbon Dream: Amber nameplate design to decorate your Guild Card.
