This new Noctua gaming mouse stops sweaty hands, thanks to a clever addition

A collaboration between Noctua and Pulsar Gaming Gears has resulted in a new wireless gaming mouse that apparently keeps your hands dry.

Noctua has just come up with an ingenious way for gamers with sweaty hands to keep their palms cool when they're in the heat of battle, with a new gaming mouse design that not only features a chassis full of holes but also sports a cooling fan inside it. Designed in conjunction with Pulsar Gaming Gears, the new mouse is also clad in the classic (but also divisive) beige and brown Noctua livery, and is currently at the prototype stage.

As the manufacturer of many of the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan.

"Now, your hand stays cool," says Pulsar Gaming Gears about the new mouse. "Even gamers with sweaty hands can enjoy a more comfortable and dry grip." The new Pulsar Feinman Noctua Edition features a single 400mm Noctua fan under a network of holes, which now double as vents rather than just being part of a weight-saving design. The fan is also angled slightly toward the right of the mouse, with the back of the fan pushing air over your palm as it rests on it.

The company also showed off a Noctua-branded charging dock for this wireless mouse design, complete with the owl logo at the top. The brown and beige Noctua colors do look decidedly odd on this gaming peripheral, though, in a market that's dominated by black and white.

While I love Noctua's cooling products, I've always thought the beige and brown colors are a bit too reminiscent of old people's undergarments. Your tastes may vary, of course, but I think a black version of this mouse is likely to be much more popular.

As a gamer with embarrassingly sweaty hands, though, I do love the idea of a mouse that can keep my palms cool, even if it does inevitably add to the weight – it makes you wonder why no one has thought of this idea before.
