Since People Can Fly's epic sci-fi shooter first launched last year, players have been delighting in the grind for better loot and stronger characters as they explore Outriders' endgame. Now, the Worldslayer expansion is here and makes the world of Enoch a whole lot bigger and more dangerous.
The expansion adds a huge amount of new content to the game including an entirely new campaign, complete with an immersive story driven by new villain, Ereshkigal. The new campaign will undoubtedly be a thrill for players new and old, but as many looter-shooter fans know, the real fun begins when the campaign is finished. And Worldslayer doesn't disappoint in this department.
That's right, there's a huge new endgame introduced in Outriders with this expansion and today, we're taking a peek at what lies in store for you. The Worldslayer endgame adds more new content than you can shake a Body Snatcher shotgun at – new weapons, armour pieces, abilities, and of course, plenty of gruesome new enemies that are hungry for your blood.
Designed to keep players engaged for many hours after the main campaign is finished, the Worldslayer endgame has challenges beyond anything Outriders players have yet faced – and rewards to match. Without further ado, let's dive into what's on offer…
Welcome to Tarya Gratar
The Worldslayer endgame transports you to a new, mysterious location called Tarya Gratar. This enigmatic settlement is closely linked to planet Enoch's natives, the Pax, and it's up to you to discover its secrets. This huge new location is complete with a day-night cycle and dynamic weather scenarios.
The main component of the Worldslayer endgame is the Trial of Tarya Gratar. This almost endlessly replayable mode takes you through a series of increasingly challenging combat encounters as you explore deeper into the dungeon. The further you push into the Tarya Gratar, the tougher the enemies will be and the better the rewards.
The trial borrows elements from roguelike games, encouraging multiple attempts and experimentation with different builds to find the best results. You'll start every run at your base camp, where you'll find all the typical Outrider amenities like vendors, crafting stations, fast travel points, access to your stash, and the ability to customise your character's look. You'll also be able to access all 18 previous expeditions from the original game. When you complete a trial run, give up, or die too many times, you'll find yourself transported back to base camp. No matter which circumstance sends you back to base, all trial rewards will be reset and freshly obtainable.
One man's Trove
The trial features hordes of regular enemies as well as fearsome bosses, some of which can only be faced as part of the trial. Want to improve your gear before taking on a boss? Explore off the beaten path and you can discover Troves – side areas where you can battle enemies to earn even more powerful loot. Crossroads will usually indicate a path that leads to a Trove – think carefully about whether you can afford to take the detour.
Troves bring targeted apocalypse gear loot farming to Outriders, offering the chance to hunt down specific gear pieces such as helmets, chest pieces, greaves, etc. If you're looking for a specific piece of loot to complete a set you're working on, it's worth taking the opportunity to track down any troves you come across.
Build your fighter
With the increased level of challenge in Tarya Gratar, it's more important than ever to utilise all your skills and enhancements as much as possible. Look for synergies between weapons, mods, and skills, as you won't last long in the trial without them. You'll need to use the new Ascension system to power up your Outrider – think about how the stats you increase will work in tandem with your gear and skills for the best results.
Some existing gear was also reworked in Worldslayer, to keep them viable in the new endgame. Look out for new high-powered weapons like the Charred Lance, which will give you new ways to obliterate your enemies.
Monster mash-up
When it comes to enemies, the Trial of Tarya Gratar combines familiar enemies with some all-new beasties. One such fresh abomination is the Shadowbeast, a fast-moving predator that can disappear from view and overwhelm players in an instant. These assassin-like enemies move in packs, and are particularly susceptible to Anomaly power. They are able to cloak themselves while moving, so look for clues as to their whereabouts in the environment around you. They can also inflict Silence, which will lock you out of your abilities for a time. Where Shadowbeasts go, Beast Lords will often follow, using the aforementioned creatures as trackers.
You'll also find plenty of powerful new bosses to challenge along your journey. We don't want to spoil the details but suffice to say that they will require every bit of strength in your arsenal to overcome. that across all of Worldslayer's content, you can increase Apocalypse tiers to up the challenge and receive even better loot. Have you got what it takes to reach the top tier?
Experience all this and more Outriders Worldslayer, available right now on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Windows Store. Happy hunting!
