I fired up Warhammer Vermintide 2 with three friends earlier this year and was pleased to find that smashing our way through the Chaos and Skaven hordes is just as satisfying as ever. Whether you've been back in Fatshark's raucous co-op game recently or not, now is the perfect time to the fight. Launching today alongside the Warhammer Skulls event, a new Warhammer Vermintide 2 update delivers the concluding act to the ongoing Verminous Dreams campaign.
Revealed during the Skulls presentation, the Well of Dreams is the final map and mission of Verminous Dreams, and it's launching as part of today's free best Warhammer games on PC.

There are more adjustments to be found in this new update, as well. A new Hero Parade screen has been introduced that will show at the end of missions in adventure mode, the roguelite Chaos Wastes mode, or unranked Weaves. Fatshark has also introduced the ability to remove boons at shrines and from the expedition map during Chaos Wastes. Alongside that come several balance changes, including a rework to talents providing temporary health. Tweaks made to versus mode will also impact both the Heroes and Pactsworn factions.
To celebrate the Skulls festivities, an in-game event has also begun. Score kills and gather daemon skulls while it lasts to get your hands on seasonal rewards including a new portrait frame and weapon illusions in special Skulls event colors. The rewards from previous years are also currently available at the Emporium.
If you can't get enough hacking and slashing, try more of the best co-op games in 2025 a go.
